Intrapreneurship in Enterprising Families |
What does intrapreneurship look like? In order to give you an example of how some of these concepts play out in real life, we’re going to use a case story. Meet the Gauthiers. Michael Gauthier started his business, a car dealership, 20 years ago. It has since grown to have 8 locations and a total of 120 employees. He has always wanted the business to stay in the family, and was thrilled when his daughter Jill began business school, and spent summers working at the dealership. However, now that she is finished school, Michael has noticed that Jill is not so enthusiastic about the prospect of running the dealership. In fact, the business directly clashes with her passion for environmentalism.
We’ll follow the story of Michael and Jill as they tackle this challenge, and explore possibilities.
