FEC Central Ontario 2019 Family Enterprise of the Year Award Finalists
Oakville, ON – March 25, 2019 – The Family Enterprise Canada (FEC) is proud to announce the four family finalists for the Central Ontario Fmaily Enterprise of the Year Award (FEYA): Alpha Poly Corporation, Camp Arowhan, MCL Sustainable Cleaning Solutions and Predictive Success.
Alpha Poly Corp: Based in Brampton, Ontario, Alpha Poly is a family owned and operated business now in it’s 2nd generation, serving customers in Canada, USA and International markets. From their beginnings in polyethylene solutions for the highly competitive waste management industry, they have become industry leading solution providers in most of the popular flexible packaging categories including CPG, Food Service,Pet Care and Packer-Processor industries. Their commitment to exceptional quality, state of the art HD Technology and outstanding customer service has been the foundation of the business for 30 years.
Camp Arowhan is a co-ed overnight summer camp for children in the heart of Algonquin Park. Started in 1932 bu Lillian Kates, it is now in its 4th generation of family ownership and management and welcomes up to 600 children each summer. Arowhan’s mission is to nurture and challenge youth both physically and emotionally while fostering community values and environmental stewardship. Arowhan employs 170 staff each summer who receive professional training and supervision that set them up to be leaders of the future.
MCL Sustainable Cleaning Solutions provides cleaning products, innovation strategies, sustainable programs and training and leadership assistance to our clients throughout Canada. Starting out in the basement of the Jacobs’ home in 1973 and now in it’s 2nd generation, the business has grown consistently over the years. What began as a small distributor of cleaning supplies has become a national provider of training, process, leadership, and empowerment strategies for all of its partners. The Corporate Headquarters and Distribution Centre is located in Vaughan, where it warehouses over 8,000 products and employs over 45 dedicated industry experts on site.

The FEC Family Enterprise of the Year Award (FEYA) recognizes significant achievements made by a Central Ontario Family Enterprise. The Award enables us to publicly celebrate the success of family businesses- ones that can inspire others. These stories showcase family businesses that demonstrate many layers of success through drive, dedication and commitment to employees and the community at large.
The FEYA finalists will be honoured at the FEYA gala luncheon at the Bellagio Boutique Event Space in Concord, Ontario, held on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019.
