FEA Fellow (F.FEA)
The title of FEA Fellow (F.FEA) is an honorary award approved at the discretion of the Board of Family Enterprise Canada, in recognition of distinguished achievement, significant contribution and/or outstanding service.
The criteria for the award of an honorary Fellow are excellence, eminence and accomplishment. Nominees must be exceptionally distinguished: scholars, persons prominent in the community and their profession, and others who have made significant contributions locally, nationally and globally to the profession and environment of Family Enterprise Advising.
The award is conferred as a way of honoring a distinguished professional’s contributions to the field.
An FEA Fellow is an Individual Who:
- Has been nominated by their peers
- Is approved at the discretion of the Board
- Has been a Member of Family Enterprise Canada for at least 10 years, and has held the FEA Designation for at least 5 years
- Has a demonstrable track record of exceptional merit and contribution to the profession.
- Has demonstrated professional integrity, character and excellence in the practice or study of Family Enterprise Advising
- Affirms to uphold the FEA Principles of Practice
- Fellows have earned the respect of their peers for their professionalism, integrity and knowledge, as well as their demonstrated track record of outstanding family enterprise advising across multiple families.
- They have demonstrated exceptional qualities of leadership in the profession, including in the conduct of the affairs of FEA and other Family Enterprise Advising organizations.
- They have done outstanding work in the fields of Family Enterprise Advising education, mentoring or scholarship.
- They have achieved one or more of the following:
- They have attended 10 years of FEC symposium/forums, or other Family Enterprise or Family Advisory conferences/forums (For example, FFI or PPI).
- They have presented at a minimum of one FEC symposium/forum
- They have written and published a minimum of three articles (Fellowship Designation as approved by the FEC Board on February 25, 2026)
- They have completed a minimum of 1 advanced curriculum mini-certificates as demonstration of continuing education.
Board Discretion
At its sole discretion, the Board of Family Enterprise Canada may also elect to confer the Fellow designation to individuals it feels are worthy of the recognition, regardless of their standing with Family Enterprise Canada. Such situations should be in recognition of individuals who have contributed substantively to the field of Family Enterprise Advising, either academically or professionally.
