OAKVILLE, ON – June 1, 2020 – During last year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Family Enterprise Canada (FEC) Board promised a call for Board member nominations for the 2020 AGM. Today we are following through on that commitment, and we are excited to issue this “Call for Nominations”. The Board is looking to onboard at least two new Directors to be elected at the September 15th AGM.
The governance structure of FEC and its sister Foundation each consist of their own separate Board of Directors. While we share one overall purpose for the family enterprise community in Canada, the FEC Board focuses on member communities, program and education delivery, peer to peer programs, digital resources and communications, and community events. Whereas, the Foundation Board oversees education development, curation of resources, thought leadership and research, and being the voice of family enterprise in Canada. This Call for Nominations today is for the FEC Board of Directors.
The FEC Board Nomination Policy & Procedure and FEC Board Nomination Form are available as of today, June 1st, and can be accessed by clicking on the links below. Our Board skills matrix is currently being refreshed and will be posted on the website.
Family Enterprise Canada is committed to ensuring the well-being and success of business families, their family enterprises, and Family Enterprise Advisors (FEA). We have made great progress in building this dynamic community, however there is still tremendous opportunity for further growth. We need a strong committed Board to lead us in fulfilling our vision. Please nominate a family business member, a FEA colleague, or yourself. We are looking forward to your input and deeper involvement.
As we continue to work and live through this health pandemic and economic crisis, it is critically important that we focus on taking care of ourselves, our families and each other. In closing, we wish you all good health and please stay safe.
About Family Enterprise Canada
Family Enterprise Canada (FEC) is a national community of business families and designated Family Enterprise Advisors (FEAs) that provides each member with access to the opportunities, advice and resources to learn, grow, share and connect — helping to achieve stronger outcomes for both enterprising families and their enterprises, enabling them to thrive and succeed for generations. Through participation in peer groups, workshops, conferences and other learning opportunities, FEC provides a platform for the community to share ideas, learn best practices and build their collective knowledge and skills. Not only is FEC the family enterprise community in Canada, it is the voice of this community on the national stage.
