The Family Enterprise Canada Foundation Announces the Launch of the Leadership Council
Oakville, ON – MAY 15, 2018 – James Burton, Chair, Family Enterprise Canada Foundation and Bill Brushett, President & CEO and are pleased to announce the launch of the Foundation’s Leadership Council, with the appointment of Olivier de Richoufftz, Robert Nason, Wendy Sage-Hayward, and Ruth Steverlynck.
The Leadership Council will serve as a strategic resource to support and provide guidance in the pursuit of the Foundation’s vision and mission. The Council is comprised of family enterprise subject matter experts who bring specialist knowledge, abilities, and experiences in the field of family enterprise. In particular, the Council members will be focused on four key areas: Learning & Development, Family Enterprise Research, Global Family Enterprise Community, and Global Advisor Community.

Olivier de Richoufftz, president of Business Families Foundation (BFF), brings over 15 years of experience in the family enterprise community. He has successfully launched 30 family business owners’ associations, serving more than 7,000 family businesses worldwide. Mr. de Richoufftz is a forward-thinker, with a deep passion for geopolitics and the contributions of family-owned businesses in the Canadian economy.
Robert Nason, PhD is the Concordia University Research Chair in Entrepreneurship and Society and assistant professor in management at the John Molson School of Business in Montréal. He serves as the Academic Director of Concordia’s Master’s Certificate in Business Ownership and the KPMG-JMSB Entrepreneurial Indices Initiative. Dr. Nason publishes his research in leading academic journals and serves on the Editorial Board of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and the Journal of Business Venturing.
Wendy Sage-Hayward is a consultant at the Family Business Consulting Group. She has more than 25 years of experience working with business leaders, family firms, and boards. Mrs. Sage-Hayward has a Masters Degree in Family Systems Counseling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and an Executive Masters Degree in the Neuroscience of Leadership from the Neuroleadership Institute. She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business and holds a Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation.
Ruth Steverlynck, founding partner of Your Family Enterprise Advisors Inc, specializes in all aspects of wealth transition with particular interest in the arena of inherited and multigenerational wealth. Ms. Steverlynck has an international background in Law, Dispute Resolution, Education and Governance. She primarily works with Family Offices in Canada. She was one of the first Canadians to receive the Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation and is proud to both teach in and adjudicate for the prestigious Family Enterprise Advisor Program.
