The value of distinct viewpoints, challenging assumptions and asking the right questions in making sustainable decisions is well documented. This article espouses the view that it serves family enterprises to be intentional about seeking diversity (including racial, sexual, educational, professional, generational) in their decision making processes to ensure both business relevance as well as meaning and purpose to an emerging generation of family stewards.
